This is a complicated update, sort of, but I’ll try to be brief. My Grandma passed away on Saturday. I will miss her, but not as much as I might have, because she has been living in the rest-home the last few months. Sometimes my ears prick up when I hear here name, but I know she isn’t here any more. I used to visit the rest home sometimes, just for a cuddle.
Anyway – Grandma I love you very much. I loved sitting on your knee and sleeping with you in the afternoons. I will miss you and know I will see you again one day at the Rainbow Bridge. Enjoy your rest. Much love, Faith. (typing this for me made Mum cry)
Grandma got really sick Friday morning and Friday afternoon I got sick – again. Mum got the vet to come out and see to me because she needed to be with Grandma. I got an injection of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories because my tummy seemed really sore. Then on Sunday morning I seemed even worse so Mum rang the vet again and she said “that’s it!” and put me on a drip and stuff, and took me to the vets to stay.
She did lots of blood tests and some x-rays. The area round my liver and pancreas looked inflamed but nothing much showed up on the bloods except a need to recheck for hypoglycemia.
This morning I wasn’t allowed any breakfast and we went back to the vets for fasting bloods. They sent bloods off to Massey but their machine showed high blood sugar even though we were testing for low blood sugar. The vet said the machine is not very accurate, so we’ll wait and see what tomorrow’s results say. Mum says she does not want me to be diabetic, or whatever, but she does want to figure out what is wrong so I can get better.
